Last year, the vegetable market in the Baxia area in northern Hebei was relatively normal, and the market started in late June, which gradually made the supply of vegetables sufficient and pushed down the price. However, this year, the vegetables in the Baxia area tended to rush forward, and the market period was earlier than usual. As a result, in the first half of June this year, vegetables from many places were concentrated on the market, which made the price in the first half of June significantly lower than the same period last year and significantly lower than the year before. However, the early market period is also likely to lead to the early delisting period. Recently, the supply of vegetables in the Baxia area is slightly tight, and the price is rising overall.

When the supply of vegetables in the Baxia area is tight, it is urgently needed to supplement and connect the vegetables on the Bashang area. However, the market period of vegetables on the Bashang area this year has not been advanced, and the market period of some vegetables has been delayed, which has caused a relatively obvious increase in the overall price of vegetables this week.

The main reason for the delay in the listing of vegetables on the dam is that there was heavy snowfall in the border area between northern Hebei and Inner Mongolia in mid-to-late April this year. At that time, the planting period of some vegetables was pushed forward, but most of the vegetables that were pushed forward suffered from frost damage and needed to be replanted or replanted. Since most of the seedlings had been used up during planting, the replanted seedlings had to be purchased from Shandong, which temporarily delayed the progress of replanting. Due to the low temperature, the planting period of some vegetables was also delayed, which also caused the listing period to be delayed. Therefore, under the condition of tight supply of vegetables in the lower dam, vegetables on the dam could not be connected in time. However, the growth of vegetables on the dam is still relatively good. Although the listing period has been delayed, the delay will not be too long. Some merchants predict that the delay will be about 1 week to 10 days. Therefore, the vegetable prices rebounded this week, and the rebound will not last too long, and the strength of the rebound will gradually weaken.

The vegetables that have seen price increases this week are mainly those with a slightly longer growth period. Vegetables with a slightly shorter growth period in the Bashang area have basically been put on the market, including Chinese cabbage and baby cabbage with larger yields. The prices are actually falling and hovering at a low level. Cauliflower, broccoli, celery, lettuce, white radish, etc., which have a slightly longer growth period, will also be put on the market in succession in the following period of time. Some of the vegetables that have just grown to commodity specifications have begun to appear in the market, but they have not yet formed the conditions for mass listing, and it will take some time to wait.

In addition, in addition to the short-term break in the connection of the vegetable supply chain affecting vegetable prices, it is also related to the fact that some vegetable prices were too low in the early stage, and farmers were unable to make ends meet, so they pulled out the seedlings in advance. Cucumbers, round eggplants, zucchini, long eggplants, etc., which were low in price in the early stage, all had the phenomenon of pulling out the seedlings in advance. The recent rebound in the prices of these vegetables is actually a recovery-driven increase, and the new crop of vegetables will also be put on the market in succession in the following period of time, and the prices will not continue to rise indefinitely. Among them, the subsequent production area of ​​long eggplant is Datong, Shanxi. The northern part of Shanxi was also affected by snowfall and low temperature in mid-to-late April. There is currently a supply gap, and it will take some time to continue.

At present, the North China Plain is experiencing high temperatures. Fresh and tender small-variety vegetables grown in the open field are very likely to have yellow leaves and heartburn, which affects the quality of vegetables. Some vegetables have even lost their commodity attributes and cannot enter the market for trading, which has also caused the prices of a small number of vegetables to rise. The rise in the price of such vegetables is actually a normal seasonal fluctuation and a normal seasonal increase. Previously, there was a saying that there was a "summer shortage period" for summer vegetables, which means that there was a shortage of vegetables in summer. Due to the large circulation pattern of vegetable supply and the improvement of planting technology and planting facilities, there is no shortage of vegetables in summer, but a moderate price increase is normal. The prices of these fresh and tender small-variety vegetables will fluctuate repeatedly in summer, especially due to the short shelf life. The same vegetables will have several prices in one day, and the prices will fluctuate violently in one day. This is not worth making a fuss about.

However, while the prices of fresh vegetables are rising, the prices of storable vegetables remain stable and even slightly decline. This week, the prices of potatoes, green-skinned winter melon, golden squash, baby melon, chestnut melon, northern and southern melon, small hairy winter melon, onion, yam, etc. are either stable or slightly declining. While the overall price of vegetables is rising, the prices of different vegetables vary.
